Early Lead For Dakota Seals Fate For Grosse Pointe South Varsity

Grosse Pointe South Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-3 loss to Dakota on Saturday. Dakota scored on a single by Guzik in the first inning, a groundout by Reseigh in the first inning, a single by Verduci in the first inning, and a single by Sawyer in the second inning.

The Grosse Pointe South Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Dakota, giving up 11 runs.

Dakota got on the board in the first inning. Guzik singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Biebuyck got the start for Dakota. He went seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out four and walking one.

Nick Raicevich started the game for Grosse Pointe South Varsity. He went two-thirds of an inning, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out one. Miles Jamieson and Conor McKenna entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and a third innings and three innings respectively.

Weston Brundage led Grosse Pointe South Varsity with three hits in three at bats.

Dakota totaled 17 hits in the game. VerduciFinnGuzikSovey, and Wouters all managed multiple hits for Dakota.
