Fabry's Walk-Off Gives Grosse Pointe South Varsity Victory Over Grosse Pointe North

Grosse Pointe South Varsity took Saturday's game in dramatic fashion, with an 11-10 walk-off victory over Grosse Pointe North. The game was tied at ten with Grosse Pointe South Varsitybatting in the bottom of the ninth when Matthew Fabry singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Grosse Pointe South Varsity built a five-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Grosse Pointe North's charge. Grosse Pointe North managed five runs in the failed comeback. HallKensoraVanDoorneHall, and Mazzola each picked up RBIs.

Grosse Pointe North got things moving in the first inning, when Lorkowski homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs.

Grosse Pointe North knotted the game up at ten in the top of the seventh inning, when Mazzoladrew a walk, scoring one run.

Grosse Pointe South Varsity scored four runs in the fourth inning. Grosse Pointe South Varsitybig bats were led by Devin SlaughterCameron Mallegg, and Fabry, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Weston Brundage was the winning pitcher for Grosse Pointe South Varsity. He allowed four hits and four runs over three innings, striking out four. Nick Raicevich and Conor McKenna entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Good was on the hill for Grosse Pointe North. He surrendered four runs on six hits over three innings, striking out five. Kensora and Lorkowski entered the game from the bullpen, throwing five innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

Grosse Pointe North launched two home runs on the day. Lorkowski had a four bagger in the first inning. VanDoorne had a long ball in the seventh inning.

Grosse Pointe South Varsity collected 14 hits on the day. BrundageSlaughterWill Leonard, and McKenna all managed multiple hits for Grosse Pointe South VarsitySlaughter and Brundage each collected three hits to lead Grosse Pointe South Varsity.

Grosse Pointe North saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. HallTedesco, and Mazzola each had multiple hits for Grosse Pointe North.
