Grosse Pointe South Freshmen Claims Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Dakota High School

Grosse Pointe South Freshmen snagged a late lead and defeated Dakota High School 7-6 on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Grosse Pointe South Freshmen batting in the bottom of the sixth when Grosse Pointe South Freshmen scored two runs on a stolen base.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Grosse Pointe South Freshmencollected eight hits and Dakota High School had seven.

Grosse Pointe South Freshmen got things started in the first inning when Jordan Bruetschsingled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Dakota High School scored three runs in the fourth inning. YeipBurns, and Wheeler all drove in runs in the frame.

Happell took the loss for Dakota High School. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on four hits and walking one.
