Two Pitchers Team Up As Grosse Pointe South Varsity Defeats Sterling Heights Stevenson In Shut-Out

Grosse Pointe South Varsity defeated Sterling Heights Stevenson 4-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Conor McKenna induced a fly out from Owens to finish off the game.

A single by Levans in the first inning was a positive for Sterling Heights Stevenson.

Weston Brundage was the winning pitcher for Grosse Pointe South Varsity. He allowed seven hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out three. McKenna threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. McKenna recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Grosse Pointe South Varsity.

Kenneth Layman led things off on the pitcher's mound for Sterling Heights Stevenson. He surrendered four runs on five hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Payton threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.

McKenna went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Grosse Pointe South Varsity in hits.

Kleinedler led Sterling Heights Stevenson with two hits in three at bats.
